| Louisiana is the only civil-law
state in the United States and Attorney George Jacques Forest is
Louisiana.
Born in Lafayette, the
traditional heart of Acadiana, George has left Lafayette solely to
pursue his Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at
Louisiana State University, just fifty miles across the
Atchafalaya Basin from Lafayette. George graduated from the
University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1978 with a Bachelor of
Arts degree and from the Hebert Law Center at LSU in 1981. |

Priscilla Rickey, George's wife to be, also graduated the Hebert Law
Center in 1981. Priscilla and George were married in 1982 and are the
proud parents of three children. Priscilla retired from the active
practice of law in 2001 now operates a property management company and a
mobile dry-cleaning service, Pressed 4 Time.
Recently sworn as a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar by
Chief Justice Renquist, George is admitted before the Eastern, Middle
and Western District Federal Courts of Louisiana and the Fifth Circuit
Federal Court of Appeals located in New Orleans.
Mr. Forest is also licensed and admitted to practice in the forty
judicial districts of Louisiana as well as in the (New) Orleans District
Courts. George maintains active memberships in the Lafayette Parish Bar
Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar
Association and the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association. George
continues to serve "Of Counsel" to the firm of Hoyt, Hodge and
Stanford.
